OKLAHOMA STATE FINALS CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW RULES
1.
Each contestant must have a current NBHA membership.
2.
No refunds.
3.
NBHA dress code and hat rule will be enforced (
Section F NBHA rulebook). This includes a long-sleeved western
shirt, a cowboy hat and cowboy boots (NO “heel down” or like type shoe is
permitted). Shirt sleeves must be
rolled down and buttoned and snapped.
Shirt tails must be tucked in.
This dress code will be strictly enforced at all State
Championships, National Championship Series, the NBHA World Championships,
the Youth World Championships, and all Super Shows. Anyone making a run at any of these shows
who is found to be in violation of the dress code
will be assessed a $25 fine. A contestant will be assessed $25
for losing their hat during a run.
Members who fail to pay such fines will be ineligible to enter
any NBHA sanctioned or approved show until such fines are paid in full.

A maximum of three gate calls will be given after which time the
contestant will disqualified.
5.
If a participant competes out of turn they will be
disqualified. It is the contestant’s
responsibility to know his/her draw number.
6.
An electronic timer will be used for all runs. Should the timer not
function, a rerun will be granted immediately after the event is completed
for the day and after a drag, or at the judge’s discretion.
7.
There will be no reruns if a horse falls.
8.
Knocking over a barrel or breaking a pattern during competition will
result in a no time.
9.
A horse and rider cannot change draw position.
10.
No rider substitution.
11.
Horse substitution must be done at time of check in.
12.
A horse may only run once per class (exception Rule 12 Section A of
the NBHA rulebook).
13.
You may enter as many horses per race as you wish.
14.
Participants cannot change horses during a class.
15.
All horses remaining on the grounds overnight must be stalled, only
one horse per stall in stalls provided by the facilities, no horses in
trailers or panels. Only one horse per stall.
16.
Stalls will be assigned upon arrival.
17.
Any questions or disputes that may arise during the show not covered
by these rules, will be settled by show judge
and/or show manager. Show judge and/or show managers' decisions are FINAL!
18.
Standard NBHA payout schedule will be used (Section D NBHA
rulebook).
19.
Payout will be 50% for each go. Any prize money not paid out in a division
of the short go, because of empty slots, will be divided equally among the
money winners in that division.
20.
Added money will be split equally between divisions. Each class is a
separate race.
21.
The 4D format will be as follows: 1D will be fastest time of the
race; 2D will be fastest time of the race plus one-half second (.5 second);
3D will be fastest time of the race plus one second; 4D will be fastest
time of the race plus two seconds.
22.
The 3D format will be as follows: 1D will be the fastest time of the
race; 2D will be the fastest time of the race plus one second; 3D will be
the fastest time of the race plus two seconds.
23.
Two 3D/4D go rounds (no short go) with the Champions determined by
fastest average time in a particular division for horse and rider
combination. Since the average is determined by adding two times together,
the splits must be doubled: 1 second off for 2D, 2 seconds for 3D, 4
seconds for the 4D.
24.
In case of ties for Championships there will be a run off. In case
of ties for other places, a coin will be flipped for the other prizes.
25.
A $20 processing fee once per contestant for State Finals.
26.
A $20 per entry late fee if entry is not post marked by entry
closing date. Late entries must be received before the first horse runs in
each race. Late entries will have a separate draw and will run after
pre-entries.
27.
Second go will run in complete
reverse order starting with add-ons.
28.
All late entries paid in cash, no exceptions.
29.
All dogs must remain on a leash. No dogs are allowed in the arena.
30.
60 second time limit on exhibitions, $10 fine will be assessed for
going over 60 seconds.
31.
All horses must be checked in the office with NEGATIVE COGGINS.
