Finals.
I could not be more proud of Oklahoma NBHA
District 08, great job….
Just an update note to everyone of the upcoming
jackpot dates in May.
May 4 Boswell, Ok (in the
Boswell Rodeo Arena on Highway 70)
May
11 Madill, OK
(in the Madill Rodeo Arena)
these jackpots will start the exhibitions at
11:00 am and the classes will not run
before 2:00pm. Both of these jackpots are
non-sanctioned. District points will count but
there will be NO nonmember fees
so invite your friends and neighbors to come run and
have some fun with us.

WELCOME TO NBHA OK O8
WE’RE SET TO BE GREAT THIS YEAR OF
2008!!
Hi to one and all. My name is Janet Wheeler and I’m
inviting you to come try some
barrel racing fun with this relatively new yet
continually growing and improving
NBHA District. For those of you who haven’t heard, I’ve
taken on this job as your
new director but I’m counting on each and every one of
you for your continued
support and effort in improving this district.
We’ve let you all have a little break
from the holiday festivities but it’s time to get back
to barrel racing.
To those who missed it, we had a fun family banquet at
our 2007 year end awards
ceremony. Our little district should be extremely proud
to say that with less than
60 in our total membership, we gave
awards to all the divisions
(Open, Youth and Senior) and to 19 different members.
That’s 1/3 of our membership
receiving year end awards!! We’re set to make
those numbers even bigger and
better and challenge all of the members to join in for
a piece of the fun.
This year we will run both sanctioned and
non-sanctioned jackpots. Sanctioned
jackpots are for National points to qualify for the
World Shows in Augusta
,
GA and Jackson, MS. Non-sanctioned jackpots are for
family fun, camaraderie,
and lots of barrel racing. ALL of
our jackpots will count for district points for our
end of the year award packages. The non member fee will
be waived at the
non-sanctioned races so bring your friends and
neighbors. Let everyone you know in
on our plans. This district is run by the members,
for the members - everyone has a
voice or an idea. Don’t be afraid to let us know
what you think. Just remember at
every race we need your elbow grease as much as your
ideas and opinions.
Don’t ever forget this is YOUR district, all it
takes is a little bit of work at
every race from every
member and we all have more fun, less stress and a super
finals at the end of the year to be the envy of every
other NBHA district. Pick up
a few barrels, help out with the concession, sell a few
tickets, set up and take
down timers, get a new sponsor, get a new member to
join.

We will have a short quick meeting between the
Exhibitions and the Classes, to go over information for the coming year.
